Breast Cancer Survivor Jean Criss has a diverse background and specializes in writing, media, fashion and as an inventor. Jean has recently been recognized with her work as a new Intimate Apparel designer for luxury post-surgical undergarments designed for women and men, CRISSCROSS Intimates. Her award-winning collection launched less than a year ago and now she sells a dozen custom-designed styles, over 250 SKUs with a colorful collection of chic, comfortable compression post-operative mastectomy and prosthesis bras, matching panties (lace briefs and sexy thongs), active wear and compression leggings, medical pouch, lymphedema and compression sleeves, and her trilogy book series, My Pain Woke Me Up! Her innovation with her brand has named her the “Magnet Chic” as she used emerging textiles and revolutionary design with her first bra, The Nina Bra using magnets for closure as a form of healing – many other features to help Survivors recover in style and Look Confident and Feel Beautiful or Handsome throughout their recovery can be found on her website.
As a ten-year breast cancer survivor, Jean took her Survivor experience from bi-lateral breast cancer with over 13 surgeries in 4 years, and put her media and tech experience into play by creating trendy undergarments for any stage or phase of breast surgery. She continues to use her media expertise from cable TV and production. She has produced various digital media events and productions including her own web TV series 'Java with Jean'. Jean returned to WeTV and Bloomberg International TV on April 26th with her updated collection that aired on the Modern Living TV with kathy ireland® show segment and is also featured on online. Jean is available for speaking opportunities and appears on Talk Radio shows – her next appearance will be on June 5th in NYC with Noreen Sumpter on the Beyond Potential Live Life podcast streaming live on air and facebook. She was recently recognized by WomeninBusiness.org for her Sweet Success as an Honoree for National Distinction for Successful Women in All Business Sectors – addressing innovation and leadership. Jean continues to express her vision with the CRISSCROSS brand with her 4 award-winning ISO accredited designs, over 20 utility-patented designs, and shares ideas about advancements in breast health and wellness and clinical trial research on her bi-monthly CRISSCROSS Intimates blog. Many product are named after survivors and even the brand name was inspired and dedicated to her belated first husband. She thinks of others as she continues to innovate. Today, she is now a certified Bra Fitter and receives educational certifications from leading organizations such as Columbia University Medical Center/NY Presbyterian Department of Surgery, Breast Cancer Management Group, Anita Breast Care, Essentially Women, and other women’s health affiliate organizations. Jean is a member of the Communications Committee at NYWIFT and supports thriving women in media. She is a Judge for start-up entrepreneurs at Startupalooza/NYC and has contributed to a variety of other entrepreneurial ventures in New York. She is a member of a variety of women-owned based CXO organizations that inspire her as a business owner. Her Intimate Apparel collection has been innovated and designed in the heart of New York City where Jean has been able to stay close to fashion trends and the manufacturing process. She is a hands-on, risk-taker and continues to thrive with her passion for fashion.
