The Hack Ability ToolKit is an adaptive learning and crafting kit that makes fashion accessible to people of all abilities. In this toolkit, you'll learn to use stencils to make accessible & stylish pockets. You'll also be able to make loops for easy dressing. You'll even recognize different types of fabric and their characteristics.
 
Established in 2014, Open Style Lab (OSL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating functional wearable solutions for people of all abilities without compromising style. The lab partners with designers, engineers, and occupational therapists to conceive and build accessible wearables that address the needs of and for people with disabilities. Open Style Lab's mission is for all people to have access to style, regardless of cognitive & physical ability. Open Style Lab is the recipient of the 2019 National Design Award for Emerging Designer.
 
The 2019 OSL Summer Program along with the NYU Langone Medical Center’s Initiative for Women with Disabilities recruited a group of disabled teenage girls to work with engineers, designers, and occupational therapists to develop the Hack Ability Toolkit, to make fashion accessible to people of all abilities. Today's hackers are tomorrow's designers.
